Allegory of the Cave Sonnet

Leave the place where you are not free
Join a world where you can see
Not only the bad but also the good
You must believe in order to leave
This cave that confines your thoughts
Take a chance to understand
You can escape the shackles
There is a way out

Look beyond the dark
You will see light
Follow it to see a new reality
Don't hesitate now is your chance
A world of wonders awaits
You can escape and uncover the truth

  2. First of all I really like your background and this sonnet is so good and full of hope! I enjoyed the read. My question to you is do you agree with Plato when he says that the universe is good and so is everyone in it? why? why not? http://emarquezrhsenglitcomp.blogspot.com/

  6. Cool sonnet, it definitely captures some of the imagery that Plato used. I loved how it was written, and was awesome at reflecting the urgency of Plato's warnings.

In addition, the background of your blog is amazing. I love the color that seems like a cross between a sunset and one of those Tropical Skittles! It's so beautiful! Check out my blog here.

  11. I was about to mention the The Laughing Heart, but looks like Whitney beat me to it! :P I really like the theme of your poem, but I'm not sure if it fits the definition of a sonnet because I can't see a rhyme scheme. I took some notes on the different kinds of rhyme schemes on my blog, if you're interested :)

My question for you is, how are you going to choose what to do for your final presentation?
